An American, in America

The last time we celebrated the 4th of July was back in 2008. We missed FOUR 4th of July’s. Yes the Australian calendar has the same date, but it is NOT the same. There are no celebrations, no fireworks, no barbeque’s, and not a single American flag flying. I think I only “celebrated” it once while in AU, and it just didn’t feel right.

Now, we are back. We can celebrate properly. We are doing the ultimate American thing today: going to a baseball game! I am excited to show my kids how patriotic this country is, because it really something to see.

Happy Birthday, America, from this proud American.
