I’m not complaining

The waves crash on the beach. It’s Port Phillip Bay, not the actual sea, but today we have waves. The wind makes the palm trees look like they have their heads out of a car window, like a dog. The palm fronds whip to the right, at least that is how it looks from my point of view.

People run by, running towards St. Kilda they are fighting the same wind that is making these powerful waves. And cyclists pump their legs, heads down, most likely cursing the wind in their minds.

The sky is blue, the sun is shining. Grey green water churns along the shoreline. Kiteboarders love days like this, and I have come around to them too. The air blows bits of paper into my garage along with a wrapper from a candybar.

I love the unpredictability of Melbourne. As much as everyone complains about “four seasons in a day” I love it. I love not knowing what is in store for the day ahead.

Not knowing makes things exciting.
