Shipping date & kindergarten

We just received a letter from the moving & storage company that our “personal and household effects” are estimated to arrive on 11/15 and then it will take 10-14 days for clearance and delivery formalities. So we should have our “stuff” by the first week of December. All 104 boxes. At this point? Honestly? I am ready to go through a few boxes, take some toys, books & shoes out and chuck the rest in storage. Out of sight, out of mind. For some reason nobody has coat closets in Australia, so what the heck am I going to do with all the coats & jackets due to arrive in 3 weeks? Hmm…not sure.

When it rains, it pours – right? I was freaking out about not getting Cameron into kindergarten for next term & whaddaya know? Now I have to decide between 2 of them. One is 5 full days, and the other is 3 half days. Decisions, decisions. I am leaning toward the 3 half days, but I am still not positive. Just funny how things turn out like that.  Plus, before I know it, this will be a reality: the two of them will be off on their own.

  1. Can’t imagine what you’re going to do with 104 boxes of stuff!!! What all is coming? Maybe you should wrap up some of the toys & re-gift them to the boys for Chanukah & Christmas. Love, M.C.

  2. That’s just what happened to us last year– couldn’t find a preschool with space that we liked, then suddenly got into everywhere we had applied to. It was strange because they all acted like the waiting lists were soooo long it just was not going to happen– then we got in to them all practically. The same thing happened this year with Kindergarten.
