I can’t quit you, Pampers!

I didn’t bring enough diapers from home to last us this long (3 1/2 weeks worth would NOT fit in our luggage) so I had to buy more when we got here. They do not sell Pampers here. I know, WTF? I have been a faithful customer since Nov 2004 and could not believe my only choice was Huggies. Well, they have other brands, but none that I have heard of (Dri-bots?) Huggies are not bad, but they are just not Pampers. Needless to say, I was thrilled when we the air shipment arrived, knowing there were 2 Mega-Jumbo boxes included. And even Jakey was happy to see Elmo back on his diapers, instead of Winnie the pooh.

On another note – we have friends! Craig met a guy while at an Open House back in August and they got to talking, his wife was moving over as well with their 2 boys. She is from Germany & he is from the US. Their boys are almost the exact same age as ours, imagine that! So we met for coffee yesterday, walked over to the park for a bit, then went back to their house for a little longer. It was so great to finally meet people, and even better that we are in very similar situations with same age boys. Cameron & Jake were thrilled to play with some new friends.

It’s Sunday night here, we changed the clocks last night (Spring Ahead) so we are now 15 hours ahead of the East Coast…soon to be 16 hours when they Fall Behind. Will be a bit harder to talk during out nighttime (11pm here will be 7am there) but we can talk more during our morning (7am here will be 3pm there). More info: we got a grill! Life is better when you can BBQ 🙂

  1. Hi Danielle, So glad that everything is going so well for you! It’s nice to hear about all the progress you’re making with getting settled from your blog. We miss Cam at school! I’m so jealous that you get to miss out on a whole New England winter this year. Hope things keep getting better and that you find those goldfish soon.

  2. I contacted Pampers and they do not and will not be selling their Pampers in Australia. I told them Huggies are there, but they didn’t seem too concerned. I also told them it was for my Grandson and he misses seeing Elmo on his Pampers. But, sorry to say, Pampers and Australia will not be getting together… sorry ;0(
Maybe you should try the Dri-Bots. Does that stand for Dry Bottoms? I wonder.

  3. Suck it up. You’ll do fine you always have. Can’t wait to see you and the boys. ALl of them.
