Saturday, in the park

I wish I could upload pictures to show, but I didn’t take any, and for some reason I can’t upload here anyway. We took the boys to Albert Park (this is a pretty well-known place, there is a big car race there in the summer) It is a beautiful park, big lake loaded with black swans (they are so beautiful!) and this is also where the Aquatic Center is where the boys will go to swim classes in 2 weeks. There are 2 playgrounds, one normal, colorful one that is lots of fun. But on the other side, there is a HUGE wooded monstrosity that looks like a castle with slides, swings, you name it. It was built by the community back in the late 90’s in 5 days, by a total of 3000 people, and boy did they do a great job. Cameron & Jake had a blast and I can imagine us spending a lot of time there.

We also took the boys for haircuts today, their first ones in Australia – and they look so adorable, she put gel in Jakey’s hair, what a sight! It was all spikey in the front, and once again, I didn’t take a picture. Oh well.

Other things we did today:
watched the Footy Grand Finals (like the Super Bowl)
eaten a meat pie (OMG – YUM!)
went to IKEA, yet again
Added a kitchen table to our house, chairs will arrive Tuesday or Wednesday
Remembered not to ask the woman cutting Cameron’s hair which team she is “rooting” for (that word has a very different meaning here)
Missed the sunset, there’s always tomorrow
Watched some of the debate
Tried to Skype with Grammy & Gramps, hopefully we can get it to work next time

  1. Hi Danielle and Craig:
I just got your blog from Carol. You sure sound like you’re having fun and have found your way around very well already. Hope Craig had a fun birthday. Uncle Bob’s 70th birthday is today and we celebrated at Bobby’s house.

Take care and keep us posted. Give the kids a kiss from us. Love ya, Aunt Diane
