Seeing Red

No, not in the “I’m really pissed off” sense. But literally, seeing RED. Somewhere in the last 6-8 months, Cameron fell in love with Red. Well, first it was Spiderman and he is red…I am assuming that is where it started. It was cute to see him running around shooting webs at me and pretending to be swinging from webs. He started dressing himself in all Spider-man clothes, there were times he was decked out head-to-toe in it. I love that he is expressing his own opinions and making choices for himself, it is part of toddlerhood. He branched out to all things red more recently: red shorts (they go great with his green camp shirt) red sneakers, using only a red straw, gravitating to all his red toys (good thing Lightning McQueen is red), always choosing the red lollipop, and lately, telling me he wants me to get a red racecar when we move to Australia, along with a new red cell phone.

I have accepted the fact that he loves red, I hope it is not just a phase since we have so many red things now, and it looks like Jake has joined in too — he has recently grown very fond of Elmo, and he’s red.

  1. Red is a happy color. A bright cheery color and when Cameron looks back at his childhood photo’s and sees himself sourrounded in red, he might find that pretty amusing. Ah, that’s what memories are all about.
